Just spent 3 short, but much-needed, days in the middle of the desert (near Joshua Tree, CA). The silence was so peaceful and I couldn’t believe how much life was in a place which seemed, at first glance, to be barren and desolate. The animals and small desert plants, many which were flowering, were out of this world. Ready to get back to work, and new things abound for the shop, including products from Chabatree and some local Vermont woodworkers.  Spring has sprung.

Are you in winter doldrums?  I am.  Today, it’s actually warm in NY – a spring tease – but the weekend was cold, snowy and rainy which left me planning my next trip.  I’ve been having a lot of dreams about water – mystical, enchanting water.  I’d love to go somewhere with water like the Phi Phi Islands in Thailand, but less touristy.  The island of Santo Antao, Cape Verde, looks beautiful..has anyone out there been?  If so, leave a comment about your experiences.  Until then, I’ve got my Cesaria Evora playing and daydreaming about water…
